La mosquée Mohammed Ali est un sanctuaire islamique de la ville du Caire, la capitale de la république égyptienne. Inscrite dans le périmètre de l’antique citadelle de Saladin, elle doit sa construction au vice-roi Muhammad Ali Pacha, qui lui a laissé son nom. Cet édifice emblématique du Caire fut édifié de 1830 à 1848 ; il s’inspire largement de l’architecture traditionnelle ottomane.
The Mohammed Ali Mosque is an Islamic shrine in the city of Cairo, the capital of the Egyptian republic. Inscribed within the perimeter of the ancient citadel of Saladin, it owes its construction to the viceroy Muhammad Ali Pasha, who gave it his name. This emblematic building of Cairo was built between 1830 and 1848; It is largely inspired by traditional Ottoman architecture.
